1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the CosDates platform, including the website at cosdates.com and any related mobile applications (collectively, the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to use CosDates. By creating an account, you represent and warrant that you are 18 or older. If we discover that you are under 18, your account will be immediately terminated.

You must also be legally permitted to use the Service under the laws of your jurisdiction, and you must not have been previously banned from CosDates.

3. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us immediately at support@cosdates.com if you believe your account has been compromised.

You may not create multiple accounts, create accounts on behalf of others, or create an account if you have been previously banned from the platform.

4. Community Standards and Prohibited Conduct

CosDates is a community built on mutual respect, shared passion for cosplay, and genuine human connection. The following conduct is strictly prohibited and will result in account termination:

• Posting or sharing sexual, nude, or sexually suggestive content
• Any content involving or sexualizing minors
• Harassment, threats, stalking, or intimidation of any user
• Solicitation for paid services, escorts, or sexual encounters
• Hate speech, slurs, or content discriminating against protected groups
• Impersonating another person, cosplayer, or public figure
• Sharing another user's personal information without consent (doxxing)
• Sending unsolicited commercial messages or spam
• Using the platform to facilitate illegal activity of any kind
• Attempting to circumvent our moderation systems
• Creating false profiles or misrepresenting your identity
• Sharing external links designed to deceive or harm other users

CosDates reserves the right to remove any content and suspend or terminate any account that violates these standards, at our sole discretion, with or without notice.

5. Content You Post

You retain ownership of the content you post on CosDates (photos, bios, messages). By posting content, you grant CosDates a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, reproduce, and distribute your content solely for the purpose of operating and promoting the Service.

You represent and warrant that you own or have the rights to any content you post, and that your content does not violate the rights of any third party.

You are solely responsible for the content you post. CosDates does not endorse user-generated content and is not responsible for content posted by users.

6. Subscriptions and Payments

CosDates offers a free Sidekick tier and a paid Hero tier at $9.99 per month. Payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing to the Hero tier, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring monthly basis.

You may cancel your Hero subscription at any time through your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not provide refunds for partial months.

We reserve the right to modify pricing with 30 days advance notice to existing subscribers.

7. Messaging and Matching

CosDates uses a match-gated messaging system. You may only send private messages to users who have mutually matched with you. Messaging privileges may be revoked if you violate our community standards.

CosDates does not actively monitor private messages in real-time, but may review messages in response to reports or for safety investigations. By using the messaging feature, you consent to this review in the context of safety enforcement.

8. Disclaimers

CosDates is provided "as is" and "as available." We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding the reliability, accuracy, or availability of the Service. We do not guarantee that you will find a match, make a connection, or have a positive experience — though that is absolutely what we are working toward.

CosDates does not conduct criminal background checks on users. Exercise your own judgment and caution when meeting people you have connected with online.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CosDates and its founders, employees, and partners shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to damages resulting from interactions with other users.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to CosDates in the 3 months preceding the claim.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless CosDates and its team from any claims, damages, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another user.

11. Termination

You may delete your account at any time through your account settings. CosDates may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violations of these Terms, with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Mississippi, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Jackson County, Mississippi, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email and by posting an updated version at cosdates.com/terms. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
